Wyze has launched the Bulb Cam Pan Color, a security camera built into a colour smart bulb. The Verge reported the launch on 22 October 2026, and the camera is listed in Wyze's store for $99.98, twice the price of the original $49.98 Bulb Cam from last year. The new model adds a motor, so the camera can turn and follow whatever it is tracking.

Camera and light in one socket

The device screws into a standard E26 socket, so there is no wall mount to fit, no cable to run and no battery to charge. Wyze's spec sheet lists a 120 V AC input and 24 W of power draw. The box includes a socket adapter and a switch cover. Wyze asks buyers to measure their sconce first, because the device is 250 mm long when collapsed and its installation guide says the fixture must be open.

The camera records 2.5K video (2560 x 1440) at 20 frames per second by day and 15 at night, with colour night vision, four 850 nm infrared LEDs and 8x digital zoom. It pans 360 degrees and tilts 180 degrees, and the field of view is 115.8 degrees diagonally. AI motion tracking, which Wyze says can tell people, pets and vehicles apart, is free. The camera also has two-way audio, a 100 dB siren and a privacy mode.

The bulb puts out up to 1,100 lumens, offers 16 million colours and tunes white from 1,800 to 6,500 K. It can switch on when motion is detected, stay at a low level as ambient light, or follow schedules and Wyze automations. Wyze Bulb Color bulbs can be linked to it and synced, so other lights change along with the camera's bulb.

Connectivity and storage

The camera connects over dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 and 5 GHz) and is set up over Bluetooth, without scanning a QR code. Local recording goes to a microSD card of up to 512 GB, which is sold separately. Cloud recording needs a Wyze subscription. Control runs through the Wyze app; the spec sheet does not mention Matter.

The camera part is rated IP65 and the bulb is rated for damp locations, so Wyze lists it for indoor and outdoor fixtures, from -40 to 70 °C.

Price and availability

A single unit costs $99.98, and Wyze also sells it in multi-packs. With a 120 V input and an E26 base, this is a product for the North American market. Neither Wyze's pages nor The Verge mention a version for European E27 sockets and 230 V mains.
