If your dashboards or automations use UniFi Protect diagnostics such as NVR CPU load, camera uptime or SSH switches, plan a cleanup. On 21 October 2026 a change by Raphael Hehl was merged into the development branch for Home Assistant 2026.11 that deprecates a whole group of UniFi Protect entities. They are scheduled to disappear in Home Assistant 2027.1.0.

The reason is the API underneath. These entities depend on UniFi Protect's private API, which the integration is phasing out. Ubiquiti's official API does not provide the same data, and the pull request says the integration is not asking Ubiquiti to add it.

What goes

The pull request lists the affected entities by device type:

Deprecated Devices
SSH switch and sensor cameras, lights, viewers
Analytics and insights switches NVR
Mount type select and sensor sensors
Paired camera select and sensor lights, sensors
Lens type sensor cameras
Voltage sensor doorbells
Uptime sensor all devices, NVR
Link speed sensor wired devices
CPU utilization, CPU temperature and memory utilization sensors NVR
Oldest recording, storage used, disk write rate, received and transferred data sensors cameras

Wi-Fi signal sensors stay, and so do the NVR's storage and disk sensors. Camera video and the rest of the integration are not part of this change.

What changes in 2026.11

Existing installations keep these entities during the deprecation period. New installations and devices added after the update no longer get them at all.

Home Assistant also tells you where you depend on them. Once startup has finished, the integration checks each deprecated entity and, if an automation or script uses it, raises a repair called "Entity deprecated". The repair names the entity and lists the automations and scripts that need updating. The check deliberately waits until startup is complete, because before automations load, every entity looks unused. Disabled entities are skipped, and the repair clears itself once nothing uses the entity any more.

What to do

After updating to 2026.11, open the repairs list in Settings. If a repair appears, the automations and scripts it lists are the ones that will break in 2027.1. Dashboards are not covered by that check, so cards showing uptime, link speed or NVR load need a manual look.
