Aqara has added an outdoor smart plug to its European range. The Outdoor Plug H2 EU (model SP-P06E) was announced on the Aqara forum on 20 October 2026, and Aqara's EU store lists it at €32.99. According to HomeKit News, the standard model can already be ordered from Amazon in Germany, France, Spain and Italy. There is also an RGB version with a multicolour LED ring around the button. It is sold through different channels, so check which of the two a listing actually offers.
Thread or Zigbee, and they are not equal
You pick one of two modes. In Thread mode the plug joins a Matter platform directly, with no Aqara hub, as long as that platform has a Thread-enabled Matter controller. Aqara and HomeKit News give Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings as examples. Home Assistant is not named, but with the Matter integration and a Thread border router it meets the same requirement.
In Zigbee mode the plug needs an Aqara Zigbee hub, older models included, and that hub can pass it on to other platforms through Matter bridging. Aqara says nothing about Zigbee hubs from other makers.
Several features only work in Zigbee mode with an Aqara hub:
- a configurable maximum power limit;
- the status LED settings and the LED as an automation action, with Thread support promised in a future update;
- fully disabling the button, which takes the accidental-removal protection setting on the hub.
Load and protection
The plug handles up to 16 A, or 3,680 W, at 100-240 V AC. It cuts power by itself when overloaded or when its internal temperature reaches 80 °C. The child lock disables the physical button, while the app, voice control and automations keep working, and the button still handles network and factory resets.
The IP44 rating covers splashing water and solid objects larger than 1 mm. That is not waterproof, and Aqara adds that the appliance you plug in needs an IP44-rated plug as well, or the protection does not hold. The plug works from -20 to 50 °C and measures 55 mm across and 100.8 mm in length.
Metering
The plug reports current power plus daily and monthly consumption, and a change in power can trigger an automation. With charging protection enabled, it switches off after the load stays below 3 W for 30 minutes, which suits chargers left in the socket. Aqara's store page does not tie this to a mode, while appgefahren.de describes it as one of the Zigbee extras. Aqara rates the plug's own idle draw at no more than 0.4 W.
The Curtain Controller C100 skips Europe for now
The same forum post announced the Curtain Controller C100, a motor that mounts on an existing curtain rail. It measures 71.1 x 50.8 x 161 mm, about half the size of its predecessor according to Aqara, delivers 1.2 N·m of torque and moves curtains up to 50 kg. It also works over Zigbee or Thread. For now Aqara lists it only for Southeast Asia, South Korea, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
