Shelly released two door and window sensors on 8 October 2026 after previewing them at IFA 2026. Both speak Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth 5 LE at once, report open/close plus tilt angle, and are sold now on Shelly.com and through authorised resellers. The compact Mini is €15.90; the outdoor model is €18.90.
Mini for tight frames
Shelly BLU Door/Window Mini ZB (product page model line) is sized for narrow frames. Besides contact state it measures inclination, so an automation can treat a tilted window for ventilation differently from a fully open one - for example pause heating or AC only on a full open. A built-in light sensor can turn a cupboard or pantry light on when the door opens in the dark.
Connectivity is dual: Zigbee to a third-party coordinator (Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA and similar) or Bluetooth through a Shelly Plus, Pro, Gen3 or Gen4 gateway. Communication can run encrypted. The product page lists up to five years of battery life; the Shelly Group availability note describes a CR2032 cell. Colours are white, black and brown.
Outdoor IP55 for gates and sheds
Shelly BLU Door/Window Outdoor ZB (model SBDW-302C) uses an IP55 enclosure rated from -20 °C to 40 °C for garage doors, garden gates, sheds and greenhouse windows. Official docs list the same open/close and inclination sensing, simultaneous Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth 5 LE, BTHome support, encrypted mode, and up to five years on a CR2032. Physical size of the sensor body is 41×28×9 mm; colours are ivory, black and mocha.
Pairing on the outdoor unit: four quick presses for Bluetooth pairing, five for Zigbee, 30-second hold for factory reset. Shelly's use-case notes include long-open garage alerts, exterior lighting on open, and greenhouse ventilation based on tilt rather than a binary open flag.
Both sensors carry a two-year warranty in the availability announcement. If you already run Zigbee in Home Assistant, these are straightforward contact sensors with tilt as the differentiator - useful where a cheap binary reed switch is not enough.
