Tuesday Labs, a robotics lab and design studio from New York City, opened reservations on 20 October 2026 for Voxel Series-1, a two-legged robot meant to tidy up and fetch things around the home. The Verge reported the news the same day. A reservation costs $200 and is fully refundable. The company estimates the final price at about $20,000 and says shipping will start in 2028.
What Voxel is meant to do
According to Tuesday Labs and The Verge, Voxel should handle simple, repetitive household jobs on its own:
- decluttering and putting things back where they belong;
- watering plants;
- fetching items such as a book, a drink or keys;
- finding misplaced things: you ask where something is, and the robot tells you where it last saw it.
The Verge notes that the company describes the hardware in far more detail than what the robot can actually do. At launch it will not cook or change nappies.
Hardware
Voxel is mostly humanoid, with a few deliberate differences:
- two arms with seven degrees of freedom and fully actuated wrists, ending in simple grippers rather than hands with fingers;
- Z-shaped legs with knees that bend the opposite way to ours, so the robot can lower or raise itself next to cabinets, tables and shelves;
- hidden stereo RGB cameras plus a wide-field camera that watches the whole room;
- animated, pixelated eyes and a small mouth on the torso, which also serves as the head.
Tuesday Labs says it works with illustrators, character designers and animators to give its robots personality.
Reservation terms
The reservation terms say:
- reservations are only available for delivery addresses in the United States;
- units are numbered in the order reservations are made, and each owner gets a numbered certificate;
- the $20,000 price is an estimate and may change as the supply chain is finalized, with the final price, taxes and delivery fees confirmed before ordering;
- you can cancel and get the $200 back at any time before placing an order;
- the payment is not held in escrow, and no interest is paid on it.
What is missing
Neither Tuesday Labs nor The Verge says anything about connections to smart home platforms, Matter, local control or how the robot handles the camera images it collects at home. With delivery two years away, these details, along with real-world task performance, are still open questions. For now Voxel is a US-only preorder with no European plans announced.
