Tuya Local, the custom Home Assistant integration that controls Tuya Wi-Fi devices over the local network instead of through the Tuya cloud, released version 2026.10.0 on 23 October 2026. It adds four devices, improves 17 existing device configurations and fixes bugs that could make devices stop updating. It also has three breaking changes, so it is worth reading the notes before clicking update in HACS.

Breaking changes

  • Deprecated entities are gone. Entities marked as deprecated in March have now been removed. If you had not switched to their replacements, you have to do it now. The release names the Electriq DES-D9LW dehumidifier, the Globe ceiling fan with RGBCW light, a Haier air-to-water heat pump and the Klarstein Bornholm Smart heater.
  • Select options merged under one key. Some translation changes standardized similarly named select options under a single key. There is no migration for this. If an automation or script reads or sets these select values, check that it still uses valid options.
  • Water flow sensors renamed. The "Flow" and "Water flow switch" binary sensors are now both called "Water flow". A migration is included, but according to the notes some uses may not be migrated, so check them.

Fixes

Lights that report invalid hex values in their colour fields and devices whose JSON data points arrive empty could previously cause errors that stopped a device from processing updates. Both cases are now handled. Detection of lost connections to subdevices behind a hub has also been improved: the integration now checks the hub to decide whether a subdevice is really disconnected.

Two configurations, a simple gate opener and a smart plug with energy monitoring, no longer force data points that were crashing some devices.

New and improved devices

The new devices are:

  • EZAIoT Lite socket thermostat;
  • Starlight EF-STAR30 fireplace;
  • Dabsson DBS2300 portable power station;
  • Lucci Aria ceiling fan with light.

Among the improvements, the Xoca DAC2121C energy meter gets three-phase support and more sensors, the WDYK 2P63A meter a leakage current sensor, the EARU circuit breaker temperature and fault sensors, and the Ecostrad iQ Ceramic V2 radiator voltage, current and power sensors. Lock state reporting for the Raykube A1 Pro Max lock is fixed. Detection now recognizes more products, including several LSC Smart Connect LED strips sold at Action, the Gosund SP1 and Antela 16A plugs and the Gledopto GL-C-301W.

Before you update

Tuya Local still needs each device's ID and local key. The cloud-assisted setup fills them in after you log in with the Tuya or Smart Life app, and the key changes every time the device is paired again in the manufacturer's app. Before updating, search your automations, scripts and dashboards for the removed entities and for select options from the affected devices.
