Josh.ai, a smart home platform with voice control that dealers design and install for their clients, has a new software update, TWICE reported on 30 October 2026. It arrives over the air on all Josh.ai systems and adds three integrations: myQ garage doors, PowerShades motorised shades and the Sonos Amp Multi amplifier. Samsung TVs also get more reliable control.

myQ garage doors

The myQ integration was built together with Intrinsic Development. It lets you open, close and stop compatible Chamberlain and LiftMaster garage doors from Josh.ai and control garage lights connected to the myQ system.

It is not free. The dealer buys a certified driver from Intrinsic Development and installs it for each project separately. TWICE does not give a price.

PowerShades shades

PowerShades support comes through a driver for Nimble DevSuite written by Chowmainsoft. It works with the PowerShades RF Gateway and with PoE Gen 1 and Gen 2 motors, so shade position can be set from Josh.ai's touch screens, text chat and voice. This one costs nothing extra, is available worldwide and can be added to new and existing projects.

Sonos Amp Multi and Samsung TVs

  • Sonos Amp Multi: each output of the amplifier shows up in Josh.ai as a separate Sonos stream, so one unit can play different music in up to four zones. In the Josh App's Active Media Hub you pick music, set volume and group zones. Installers can also use the VoiceCast feature to play Josh.ai's answers and notifications through architectural speakers connected to the amplifier.
  • Samsung TVs from 2024 onwards, including The Frame, turn on from standby more reliably and now report the current channel to Josh.ai. Existing integrations update on their own, with no dealer configuration needed.

What owners need to do

Most of the update needs no action. The Samsung changes apply automatically, and PowerShades support is free for any project. The myQ integration is the exception: an owner who wants garage doors in Josh.ai has to ask the dealer, who buys the driver for that specific project.
