ESPHome 2026.10.2 came out on 2 November 2026, six days after 2026.10.1. It is a short patch release with six fixes, and two of them matter to people running ESPHome devices day to day.
RTL8710B and compressed OTA
The most important fix is a workaround for a LibreTiny OTA issue that bricks RTL8710B chips when they receive a compressed update. Compressed OTA arrived in ESPHome 2026.10.0. If you have Realtek RTL8710B devices running ESPHome through LibreTiny, installing 2026.10.2 before the next over-the-air update is the safe move.
Bluetooth proxy
The Bluetooth proxy now releases held connections when a new client replaces the subscriber. Before, connections could stay occupied after the client on the Home Assistant side changed.
The rest
- On the ESP32,
audio_httpkeeps TLS 1.3 working. - For the host platform, the Device Builder offers the built program as a download.
- Two build fixes for macOS:
http_requestbuilds again on a macOS host with the precompiled header, and on Apple Silicon the cc1plus wrapper is started throughshwhen the Python path contains a space.
