On 13 October 2026 Apple announced Apple Home Collection: cameras, a video doorbell, a deadbolt, thermostats and room sensors designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Setup starts with an NFC tap from iPhone; control stays in the Apple Home app with no separate vendor account. Sales begin in December, with some accessories in early 2027.

Monitoring and access

LG supplies four cameras, each up to 2.5K, with recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles and packages when a home hub is present (HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K). Event history goes to iCloud+ (no separate camera subscription). Starting U.S. prices: Video Doorbell Wired $249.95, Floodlight Cam $399.95, Outdoor Cam Plug-In $299.95, Indoor Cam Plug-In $199.95. The indoor camera tilts its view when someone checks in and tilts down again when the first household member returns.

LG's Smart Deadbolt Lock starts at $349.95. Ultra Wideband can unlock as a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approaches; tap-to-unlock, PIN pad and a hidden key slot remain as fallbacks. Apple says the lock is Matter compatible, supports Aliro, and keeps core access working without internet. Doorbell and lock can share one front-door view in Home.

Climate and Matter/Thread

LG and Schneider Electric each offer a Smart Thermostat from $199.95, plus temperature/humidity sensors from $39.95. Adaptive Temperature in Home can shift setpoints from iPhone presence (home, night, away). In the contiguous U.S., Clean Energy Guidance can move heating and cooling toward cleaner or cheaper periods when the utility plan allows it. Both thermostats and the sensors are Matter compatible and support Thread, so they can stay on the mesh if Wi-Fi drops.

Every Collection accessory updates Wi-Fi credentials when the household changes the network password - a small practical fix for devices that otherwise need re-pairing. Professional installation through ADT is offered at Apple Retail in the U.S. from this fall for an extra charge.

For Home Assistant users the interesting part is Matter and Thread: these products can sit on the same fabric as other Matter gear once commissioned, but Apple's pitch is end-to-end Home app privacy and hub-centric features. Check Matter bridging and hub requirements before you count on them outside Apple Home.
