Aqara has started a pre-launch trial for two security products it showed at IFA 2026 in September: the battery-powered Camera G510 and the Security Station M410. The trial was announced on the Aqara Forum on 26 October 2026. Sixty testers in the EU, the UK and a few neighbouring countries will be able to buy the two devices as a kit for 49.99, before the products go on sale. The post does not name the currency, and Aqara says that price is not the final retail price. There is still no official launch date or retail price. At IFA, Aqara told GameStar that the missing subscription revenue would not simply be made up for with much higher hardware prices.

The camera

The G510 is an outdoor camera with a 10,400 mAh battery and a solar panel to keep it charged, in an IP66 housing. It records 2.5K video with a 133-degree field of view. People, pets and vehicles are detected on the camera itself, so alerts do not depend on a subscription, and Aqara says it works with multiple smart home platforms. The company warns that the body is fairly heavy and should go on a wall that can carry the load.

The station

The M410 is the part that makes this more interesting for anyone who prefers local storage. It is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 hub for battery cameras and can be powered over PoE with a single cable. It takes a microSD card of up to 1TB and an external USB-C drive of up to 4TB for 24/7 local recording. On battery power, the always-on video mode records at a low frame rate between events and switches to 20 fps when something happens.

For Apple users, the M410 supports HomeKit Secure Video, which needs an Apple Home hub such as a HomePod, Apple TV or iPad and an iCloud+ account. It also works as a Matter Camera Bridge on compatible platforms. There is a loud built-in siren and a 6,000 mAh backup battery, which Aqara marks as "channel-dependent" without further explanation.

How the trial works

Sign-ups run from 26 October to 4 November. Applicants need at least 50 Aqara Forum points and reply in the thread with their country, where they would mount the camera and what the kit would replace. On 5 November Aqara picks 60 testers and sends each a private message with a discount code for the Aqara Shop. Shipping starts gradually in early November, and most kits should arrive in late November.

Poland is on the list of eligible countries, along with most EU members, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the UK. The terms are strict. Payments are non-refundable except for serious quality problems, testers may not discuss the products anywhere before the official release, and a review on the forum is expected within 30 days of launch. Aqara may reuse anything testers post, including photos and videos, in its own marketing.
