Baseus has put the PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera on sale, an outdoor battery camera with a motorised spotlight that aims a beam at a detected person and keeps it on them as they move. The Verge reported on 20 October 2026 that it costs $269.99 on Amazon in the US and €269.99 in Europe, where sales started on 15 October. US prices differ between reports: Gizmodo lists it as a $280 pre-order on Amazon, shipping in early November. Baseus first showed the camera at IFA 2026 in September.

A beam instead of a floodlight

Floodlight cameras light the whole area once they see motion. The U2 Pro projects a sharply defined rectangle of light onto the subject instead, which Baseus says makes it the first security camera with a dedicated target-tracking spotlight. The point is to show an intruder they have been seen and to get a clearer face at night.

Tracking uses two PIR sensors together with AI recognition. According to Baseus's figures quoted by Notebookcheck, the beam follows a person walking or jogging at up to about 1.8 m/s at 3-8 m, a sprinter at about 4.9 m/s at 5-8 m, and a car at roughly 30 km/h at 8 m.

Two 3K cameras

The upper camera is fixed, with a 130° field of view and 8x digital zoom, and is meant for one spot such as a gate or a front door. The lower one sits with the spotlight, pans 360°, tilts and zooms to cover the rest of the property. Both have colour night vision. There is also a siren and two-way audio.

Motion is classified as people, pets or vehicles, and alerts can include short text summaries, for example of a parcel delivery. Those summaries come from cloud AI and need a subscription. Video itself stays local: clips are recorded only on motion to a microSD card of up to 512 GB, encrypted with AES and RSA, and there is no cloud video plan.

Power and connectivity

A 7,800 mAh battery is rated for up to 150 days without sun, less where there is a lot of activity. The bundled 3 W solar panel goes on top of the camera or a short distance away, and Baseus says 40 minutes of sunlight covers a full day. The camera is IP65 rated, works from -20 to 50 °C and connects over 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Baseus claims it can be mounted on a wall or ceiling in about two minutes.

You use it through the Baseus Security app, and the live view can be shown on Amazon Alexa and Google Home smart displays. Gizmodo asked whether tracking needs the cloud. Baseus replied that it is handled entirely on the device, so no tracking data goes to the cloud, and that only recorded video is stored. None of the sources below mention Matter, RTSP or ONVIF, so there is no confirmed way to bring the camera into Home Assistant or a local video recorder yet.
