Baseus has a new camera for people who cannot drill into an outside wall. On 27 October 2026 Digital Trends reported the launch of the PrimeSentinel W1, a camera that sticks to the inside of a window and watches the street, garden or driveway through the glass. It costs $69.99 and went on sale in the US the same day.

Night vision without reflections

A regular indoor camera pointed at a window has a familiar problem after dark: its infrared LEDs bounce off the glass and the picture turns into a bright reflection. The W1 does not rely on infrared. It uses a 4K Starlight sensor with an F1.0 lens that gathers enough light for colour video at night, and Baseus adds an anti-reflection design to cut glare from the glass.

Mounting and field of view

  • Mount. The camera attaches with a reusable nano adhesive pad and a magnetic holder. Baseus says installation takes about 30 seconds and needs no tools.
  • Adjustment. After mounting you can still turn the camera 13 degrees left or right and 25 degrees up or down without peeling off the pad.
  • Field of view. The lens covers 130 degrees. With the full horizontal adjustment range, the camera can cover up to 156 degrees.
  • Two directions. Both sides of the camera are magnetic, so it can be taken off, flipped and reattached facing into the room. The same mount then serves as an indoor camera.

Recording and connectivity

The W1 records continuously, 24 hours a day, to a microSD card of up to 512 GB. It connects over 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and the Baseus app sends notifications when it detects activity. It is not battery powered: it needs a cable to a nearby socket, which suits a camera that records around the clock.

What to keep in mind

Local recording to a card means you are not forced into a subscription to keep footage, which is the main draw of this price class. Digital Trends does not mention Matter, RTSP or ONVIF, so there is no sign yet of a way to bring the camera into Home Assistant or another platform without the Baseus app. Check this before buying if you want the image on your own dashboard.

The European launch date in the Digital Trends report is unclear, as it gives a day that comes before the US launch. Baseus already sells other PrimeSentinel cameras in Europe, so it is worth watching its European store for the W1. The model also competes directly with the Eufy E10 Window Camera, which uses a similar idea of sticking to the glass and recording to microSD.
