Eve Systems' MotionBlinds have so far come in two forms: blinds made to measure, or an upgrade kit that motorises a blind someone already owns. On 19 October 2026 the German site appgefahren reported a third option. Eve now sells ready-made MotionBlinds roller blinds through Amazon and Otto, with prices starting at €179.95 including the Matter motor.
Standard sizes instead of made to measure
The ready-made blinds come in six colours and 26 widths from 60 to 240 cm. Up to 120 cm the widths go in 5 cm steps, and above that in 10 cm steps. The length is always 190 cm, which appgefahren says should be enough even for most floor-to-ceiling windows. Because the blinds are taken from stock rather than cut to order, delivery takes only a few days.
Installation is close to that of an ordinary roller blind. The motor slides into the tube on whichever side suits the window. A short pull cord allows manual operation.
Thread, battery and USB-C
The motor joins any Matter controller over Thread, so the blinds can work with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings or Home Assistant, as long as there is a Thread border router in the home. appgefahren, which has run two made-to-measure MotionBlinds in its office since early 2022, says control in Apple Home works perfectly.
The built-in battery lasts six to nine months according to Eve, depending heavily on use. It charges over USB-C, and a long cable is included. The author simply plugs in a power bank from time to time because the nearest socket is too far away.
Where it fits
The move fills a gap that IKEA left. IKEA's KADRILJ and FYRTUR smart roller blinds used Zigbee rather than Matter and have been out of IKEA's range for several years. Eve's ready-made line is a direct Matter-over-Thread replacement for standard window sizes.
The price is the obvious objection. A commenter under the article called €180 "pretty steep", noting that the fixed 190 cm drop is unnecessarily long for common windows (120 cm). Cheaper retrofit motors for existing chain-operated blinds, such as Aqara's Zigbee Roller Shade Driver E1, remain an option for anyone who already has blinds and does not need Matter.
The details here come from a single report, which covers the German Amazon and Otto stores. It does not say whether the ready-made blinds are sold in other countries.
