Adding Somfy blinds and shutters to Home Assistant through the Overkiz integration has so far meant choosing the server your gateway is registered on. The hub list offered separate entries for Somfy (Europe), Somfy (Australia) and Somfy (North America), next to the other Overkiz brands. A pull request merged on 24 October 2026 adds a single "Somfy" option that skips that step. It is in the development branch, so it should arrive with Home Assistant 2026.11 in early November.

What changes in the setup

With the new option you enter the email address and password of your Somfy account, the same ones you use in the Somfy app. Home Assistant then selects the right region and server for your gateway by itself. The setup screen says that all homes on the account are discovered, so if the account has more than one gateway, you pick the one to add from a list. The new "Somfy" entry is now the default choice in the hub list. Reauthentication and reconfiguration work for entries created this way.

Two gateways, one account

The change closes an issue opened in April 2026. The person who reported it controls blinds through the Overkiz cloud setup with a Somfy account and a connectivity kit. They then bought a second kit for a different network with its own Home Assistant instance, registered under the same account as a separate location. The TaHoma app showed it without trouble, but the Overkiz integration only ever saw the first gateway. Choosing from all gateways on the account solves exactly that case.

The regional options stay, for now

Nothing changes for existing installations. The regional Somfy options remain in the list and current entries keep working. The pull request does announce the next step, though: a future change is meant to deprecate the regional options and move their existing entries to the new "Somfy" option. Users with an Overkiz entry for Somfy don't need to do anything yet, but the migration will be worth checking in the release notes when it comes.
