Jasco announced on 13 October 2026 that it has acquired Zooz, a smart home brand known for its Z-Wave products and its reputation among enthusiasts, integrators and installers. The Oklahoma City company makes consumer electronics, connected home products and lighting, and says it will keep Zooz running as a separate brand. The announcement does not mention a price.

What Jasco gets

According to the press release, Zooz has the largest Z-Wave Long Range product portfolio on the market. Jasco sees that as the main asset at a time when, in its words, Z-Wave Long Range "is gaining significant momentum". The release puts the deal in Jasco's B2B plans: Zooz should strengthen its offer for professional installers, distributors and developers.

Jasco CEO Jason Trice said the company wants to keep "everything that has made Zooz successful" while using Jasco's scale to speed up growth and product development. Zooz's Agnes Lorenz, VP of Brand and Partnership Support, said the team had built "a deep level of trust" with Jasco during the process.

There is one unusual detail. Jasco gives 50% of the net profits from each of its brands to charity, and the same will apply to Zooz.

What changes for Zooz owners

For now, nothing visible. In a post on its community forum, Zooz says customers can keep using its products, documentation, support resources and The Smartest House store as they do today. The team lists firmware maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation among the things that stay at the center of the brand, along with feature-rich devices with deep configuration and integration with the platforms customers use. If you run Zooz devices in Home Assistant through Z-Wave JS, nothing in either announcement asks you to change anything.

Zooz also expects Jasco's resources to speed up new product development. Support policies tend to show their real shape a year or two after a takeover, so watch how quickly firmware updates for existing devices keep coming. On paper, Zooz's commitments look good: the brand stays, support stays, and the team stays in touch with the community.
