Jetson Home, the US and Canadian company known for its Jetson Air heat pump, announced two new products on 27 October 2026: Jetson Water, a heat pump water heater, and Jetson Charge, a Level 2 EV charger. Both use the same app as Jetson Air. Reservations opened the same day with a refundable $50 deposit, and installations start in early 2027.

The idea behind the launch is that heating, hot water and EV charging are a home's biggest electrical loads but are usually bought from different installers and run from different apps. Jetson sells the hardware, handles permits and rebate paperwork, and installs everything with its own technicians. Each product also works on its own.

Jetson Water

Jetson Water comes in 50, 65 and 80 gallon sizes (189, 246 and 303 litres). Jetson CEO Stephen Lake gave pv magazine prices of $4,495, $4,995 and $5,495 respectively, including permits and electrical work but before rebates. The uniform energy factor (UEF) is 3.75, 3.90 and 4.00 by size, compared with slightly under 1.0 for a conventional electric tank. Jetson claims about 75% lower energy use than such a tank.

The heat pump sits on top of the tank and uses R134a refrigerant. Two resistance elements act as backup during heavy demand or when the surrounding air drops below about 2.8 °C. Water is stored at 60 °C and blended down to 48.9 °C by a thermostatic mixing valve. The unit needs a 240 V, 30 A circuit, a condensate drain and enough air around it, and it slightly cools and dehumidifies the room it stands in. It connects by wire to the Jetson Hub controller, and the app offers temperature control, operating modes and a vacation mode.

Jetson Charge

Jetson Charge delivers up to 48 A (11.5 kW) when hardwired, which Jetson says adds up to 44 miles (about 70 km) of range per hour. It ships with a NACS connector, and a J1772 adapter is an optional extra. The more interesting part is the included whole-home energy monitor that clips into the electrical panel. It measures total consumption, and the charger slows down when other loads rise. Jetson says this lets many homes with 100 A service add charging without a panel upgrade, where local code allows it. The app can start, stop and schedule charging and shows the home's electricity use in real time.

Both products come with 10-year coverage under the Jetson Care programme, although the product pages say full warranty details are "coming soon". Eligible rebates are applied upfront.

Open questions

Jetson describes a closed system. The press release, product pages and pv magazine article mention only the Jetson app. None of them mention Matter, OCPP or a local API, so integration with Home Assistant or other platforms is unknown for now. The products are limited to the US and Canada, and no installation has taken place yet.
