Home Assistant's development branch now accepts sign-ins through a Tailscale address, a global IPv6 address or another public IP. The fix by Joakim Plate (elupus), reviewed by balloob, was merged on 17 October 2026. It went into the dev branch, so it should arrive with Home Assistant 2026.11 rather than in a 2026.10 patch release.
ESPHome's development branch now has a mics_5524 sensor platform for the MiCS-5524 MEMS multi-gas sensor: the small 5 V analog modules with VCC, GND, A0 and EN pads, and the DFRobot Fermion breakout they are cloned from. nliaudat split the work into two pull requests. The first merged on 16 October 2026, the second on 17 October, and bdraco reviewe
Home Assistant changed the way it groups integrations on 16 and 17 October 2026. ESPHome's pylontech component, which reads Pylontech home storage batteries over their console port, has so far reported each battery as a whole: voltage, current, state of charge, temperatures, and the voltages of its lowest and highest cell. From ESPHome 2026.11 it can also report the voltage and temperature of every cell. The pull request by fun
An ESP32 camera running ESPHome has so far streamed through the native API to Home Assistant, or through the esp32_camera_web_server component. The new rtsp_server component adds the protocol that video players and recorders already understand. Christian (max246) opened the pull request on 31 July 2026, building on an earlier one (#1905), and bdrac
